The ESL / Languages and Cultures Department has added another section of American Sign Language I for Fall 2012. Meeting on Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30pm-1:50pm in ED113, ASL 121-03 will focus on a general introduction to American Sign Language starting with the alphabet, fingerspelling and basic vocabulary. ASL I is a General Education Humanities elective. Our professors use their practical and everyday experience to illustrate their discussions.
Students planning a career in criminal justice, nursing, teaching, social work, and customer service (among other fields) may find opportunities to use the conversational aspects of ASL in their daily work with the Deaf community.
