Academic Advising Overview for Liberal Arts Visual Arts (LAVA.AA) Majors

The Academic Advising Center is continuing a new project which will allow students to receive an overview of the requirements of their declared major. In so doing, the Center hopes to utilize the electronic resources at its disposal to provide our students with another method of the best possible academic advising in as efficient a way as possible. This Electronic Advising Packet is for the Liberal Arts--Visual Arts (LAVA.AA) Degree.

ENG 121--English Composition I
ENG 122--English Composition II (prerequisite of English Composition I with a grade of "C" or better)

SPE 121--Fundamentals of Public Speaking or SPE 123--Discussion and Debate

HIS 121--History of Western Civilization I
HIS 122--History of Western Civilization II
HIS 131--World History I
HIS 132--World History II
HIS 221--United States History I
HIS 222--United States History II

GE Humanities Elective

Two semesters of a modern language

CSC 105--Computer Applications and Systems or CSC 106--Intermediate PC Applications with Programming (CSC 106 has a prerequisite of CSC 105 or CSC 107 and MAT 014)

GE Math elective
GE Science elective
GE Math or GE Science elective

Two GE Social Science electives

ART 145--Art Fundamentals--Two Dimensions
ART 146--Art Fundamentals--Three Dimensions

Choose two of the following courses
ART 123--Art History:Ancient to Renaissance
ART 124--Art History:Renaissance to Modern
ART 125--Art History to Contemporary

GE Diversity elective

Divisional elective (Choose one course from the following--AFS, ART, ASL, BIO, CHM, COR, DAN, EDU, ENG, FRE, GER, HED, HIS, ITA, LNC, MAT, MUS, PED (3 credit), PHI, PHY, POL, POS, PSY, SSD, SOC, SPA, SPE, THE)
