Academic Advising Overview for Liberal Arts Writing (LAWRT.AA) Majors

The Academic Advising Center is continuing a new project which will allow students to receive an overview of the requirements of their declared major. In so doing, the Center hopes to utilize the electronic resources at its disposal to provide our students with another method of the best possible academic advising in as efficient a way as possible. This Electronic Advising Packet is for the Liberal Arts--Writing (LAWRT.AA) Degree.

ENG 122--English Composition II (prerequisite of English Composition I with a grade of "C" or better)

HIS 221--United States History I
HIS 222--United States History II

GE Humanities Elective

Two semesters of a modern language

CSC 105--Computer Applications and Systems or CSC 106--Intermediate PC Applications with Programming (CSC 106 has a prerequisite of CSC 105 or CSC 107 and MAT 014)

Two GE Social Science electives

Choose four English courses (ENG) from the following list of (writing-intensive) courses
ENG 205--Introduction to Journalism (prerequisite of ENG 122)

ENG 206--Journalism II (prerequisite of ENG 205 or permission of department chair)
ENG 235--Creative Writing I (prerequisite of ENG 122)
ENG 236--Creative Writing II (prerequisite of ENG 122)
ENG 237--Advanced Writing Workshop (prerequisite of ENG 122)
ENG 238--Technical Writing (prerequisite of ENG 122)
ENG 240--Business Communication (prerequisite of ENG 122)
ENG 260--Scriptwriting (prerequisite of ENG 122)

GE Diversity elective
