REANIMATOR SHOW and FREE ANIMATION WORKSHOP
What does it mean to take an object and animate it?
On Thursday, November 15th from 1:45-4:45, professional animator Richard Thompson will be running a free animation workshop for students hosted by media arts and design/visual arts dept (VPMA). We can accommodate up to 25 students but you need to rsvp by this Monday to me, Prof. Heller so I can add you to our official confirmation list. I also have an excuse note you can pick up which is signed by me to present to your instructor if you have a class at that time. This is a great opportunity to work with an animator in a workshop atmosphere. Mr. Thompson has done 3D work for both TV and film.
At five o’clock that same day in the Studio Theatre Gallery, we are having an exhibition and reception for the show: Reanimator, which includes animatronic sculpture (mechanical moving objects/things/figures), an award winning and strange animation/video piece: Metachaos, and puppets.
There will also be a brief performance and a chance to speak with the artists. Food served. You are invited to come to this too. In fact, we hope you can come to both! One event directly follows the other.
