Preparing for Registration
As the current semester starts to approach its mid-way point, it is time again to look ahead to preparing for your upcoming registration. There are several things you can do to lay the proper groundwork for your registration.
Might you have any non-academic holds that will prevent you from registering?
Please be sure to pay any library or parking fines that you may have. If you have not submitted your immunization records or replied to a notice about a missing transcript, please be sure to do so or there will be a hold on your registration. If you received a notice about needing to have your current mailing address verified, that will also need to be finalized at the Office of the Registrar before you can register.

If you are on Probation or Restriction, visit the Advising Center in Chambers Hall 109 so that your hold can be lifted. If you still have developmental coursework that needs to be completed, you will also need to have your hold lifted. Visit the Advising Center during its regular business hours to do so.
Take advantage of the online resources available to you prior to registering
Visit the Academic Advising Website or the MCC Guide to Self-Advising for a great deal of general information about registering for classes. If you are unsure of the courses you need, review your curriculum requirements through "Degree Evaluation" in your WebAdvisor account. You are also most welcome to address your advising question by emailing advising@middlesexcc.edu through your CampusCruiser account.

Some Thoughts at the End of a Semester
As another semester comes to an end, it's time to look forward to your upcoming registration. Here are some important items to keep in mind as you plan for the future.
If you received a grade of "D" or "F" in a developmental course (a course beginning with "0") you will need to repeat it in your upcoming registration. If you were unsuccessful in developmental math, give some serious thought to repeating the class in the format over two semesters.
Many students forget that you need a grade of "C" or higher in ENG 121 and 122. If you received a grade of "D" in either of these courses, you will need to repeat it.
A course can be taken up to three times. If you are pursuing a fourth attempt of a course, you will need to secure approval from an academic advisor in the Advising Center in Chambers Hall.
Be proactive!! If you need to replace a course in the upcoming semester because you were unsuccessful in a prerequisite, do so through your WebAdvisor account. Don't wait for a notice cancelling the incorrect class for Non-Compliance.
Be alert to your Academic Status. About a week after the semester ends, you will learn if you have been placed on Academic Probation or Academic Restriction. Academic Probation means that you can register for no more than 4 classes or 14 credits, whichever is fewer. Academic Restriction means that you can register for no more than 2 classes or 8 credits, whichever is fewer.
When planning your upcoming registration, you may want to include a General Education elective in your registration. Click GE Humanities electives and GE Social Science electives to view these lists of courses.
