Information for Late Financial Aid Applicants

A Guide for Financial Aid Late Applicants


If you have missed the priority filing date for your aid application, you may still apply for financial aid. You should complete all filing requirements as soon as possible. Please keep the following in mind:

• Late applicants will be reviewed only after all on-time, completed applicants have been reviewed.

• Your award notice (available in Campus Cruiser/ Web Advisor) may not be ready until after your tuition & fees are due;

• Blue Colt Bookstore credit authorization will not be available until your financial aid file is complete;

• Certain types of financial aid may no longer be available by the time your application is processed.

Are you a late applicant?

You are a late applicant if you want to use financial aid to pay your bill and it is after:

• July 15 and you want to start classes during the fall semester (September);

• December 1 and you want to start classes during the spring semester (January);

• April 1 and you want to start during the summer semester (June).

We strongly recommend late applicants apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov to be sure that your financial aid will be completed on time. Select “Entering a FAFSA online” and then the “Fill out a FAFSA” option.

Late Applicants should follow these instructions:

• If you do not have a Personal Identification Number (PIN), go to www.pin.ed.gov to request one. If you are required to report parental income, one parent must also request a PIN.

• Complete the paper application or the application worksheet (available at www.fafsa.ed.gov) and then enter your application at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

• Your financial aid award will be posted to your account and you may check your award online (Campus Cruiser /Web Advisor to ‘View your Financial Aid Award’).

• CAUTION: You may be selected for verification. Please refer to Campus Cruiser /Web Advisor to view ‘My Documents’. If you do not have copies of your tax transcripts, order a free copy now from the IRS at 1-800-829-1040.

What can I do right now? You may fill out a payment option plan for the Fall semester that begins Tuesday ,September 4th or enroll in our Fall II program that begins on Monday, September 24th or 2nd 7 week sessions that begin on Monday, October 29th .

Fall 2012 Art Courses Are Still Available--Great for Education Majors

The following Art courses and sections are still available for Fall 2012. They are great courses for Education majors.

ART 109-01 or 02 Drawing - Have you always wanted to learn HOW to draw? No experience required. Learn the fundamental skills necessary in this interesting course which introduces students to drawing techniques and materials. This is a course which satisfies the studio requirement for education majors
ART 110-01 Figure Drawing – In this course you will have a live model every week and learn how to draw the human figure, no experience necessary. Understand proportion, anatomy, and expressive techniques to render the figure and create portraits and realistic figures. This is a course which satisfies the studio requirement for education majors
ART222 -01 Painting – In this course, you will learn how to use color and drawing to create dynamic paintings. This is a course which satisfies the studio requirement for education majors.

Language Lab Assistant/Tutor Positions Available

MCC's English as a Second Language/Modern Languages and Culture Department is looking for students who are interested in working in its Language Lab.

This position has the following duties:

Assist in maintaining student files (attendance and class progress)
Assist students in lab procedures
Assist students in computer applications
Assist students in lab work
Maintain and clean lab equipment
Report any equipment malfunction in a timely and specific manner
Maintain lab room and equipment security

A familiarity with the ESL program at MCC is very helpful. Ability in a second language is not necessary, but would certainly be an asset.

PSY 219 Theories of Personality (Sections 01 and 02) Fall 2012

Are your music preferences related to your personality? Can you accurately judge someone’s personality based on his/her Facebook page? How much do genes and the environment contribute to personality? Are certain personality traits related to certain patterns of brain activity? In Professor Aloni's course we will explore these questions and many more! You will be exposed to classic as well as contemporary research in the area of personality psychology. In addition, you will have the opportunity to complete many personality scales and learn about your own personality.


Professor Aloni's course will be offered on the following days:

PSY 219 - 01 - Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30am-10:50am

PSY 219 - 02 - Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00am-12:20pm
